There’s nothing quite like a great classic to put a smile on your face.

And there is certainly nothing like watching great performers doing what they do best.

Add the two together?  Magic.

Here’s a fantastic example.  It is a couple of years old, so you may have seen it.  But it came up on my Facebook stream today and I just had to share it.

Apparently, Bruce Springsteen and his band like to finish off concerts by playing a request from the crowd – preferably something they have not rehearsed.  Here they are tackling the Chuck Berry classic You Never Can Tell.

I love the faux-fiddling around at the beginning before they absolutely smash it.

And for the purists among you, which includes Mr Tracks, here’s the original.  Enjoy! 🙂

  1. Thought you might like to know that Dave has the vinyl record of Best of Chuck Berry. Dave says there is not enough played of Chuck Berry. He thinks Chuck Berry ‘kicked a lot of things off’. Love the look of your blog.

    1. I’m not surprised to hear that, knowing Dave’s tastes. Interestingly, Steve told me that You Never Can Tell (original version) is one of his all time favourite tracks!
